Thebestof franchise takes Ireland by storm

Since launching in October, the interst received from both business people and entrepreneurs has made it one of Europe’s fastest-growing franchises.

The past three months have been a whirlwind ride for outsourced marketing franchise thebestof. Since launching in Ireland in October the company has received an influx of requests from entrepreneurs and business people across the country anxious to get involved in one of Europe’s fastest-growing franchises. The organisation has already awarded a number of franchises in key regions including North Kildare, Newbridge with Naas to come on stream in the New Year and is in talks with potential franchise owners throughout the four provinces.

Such high demand shouldn’t come as any surprise. Thebestof has established a strong name in the UK, where it was established in 2005.

Since then, it has grown rapidly across the UK, representing more than 250 communities across the country and supporting over 29,000 best businesses. More recently, thebestof launched in Australia in 2012, where it has experienced similarly strong growth. Along the way, it has picked up a host of prestigious accolades including awards from the Crème de la Crème Awards, Best Business Awards and the Sharp Edge Awards, as well as ranking third place in Britain in the Tech Track 100 League Table.

The idea is simple: promote the businesses within a town or city and encourage residents to engage with their local community to build better, more profitable regions around the country. From a business side, thebestof’s mission is to make marketing simple and affordable, and to provide a support network for companies in the local area. Through its community websites, direct marketing, advertising and events thebestof plans to champion all the wonderful local businesses, from accountants to plumbers, and help them grow.

Commenting on thebestof, Paul Teahan, Master Franchisor for thebestof Ireland, says: “The response we’ve received, not just from potential franchise owners but from local businesses, has been overwhelmingly positive. Local enterprises have a need for marketing support that is not being met. thebestof fulfils that need, without breaking the bank, while encouraging communities to shop locally. We’ve been running discovery days every fortnight to keep up with the demand from franchise owners.”

Unlike existing business guides, directories or deal-of-the-day websites, thebestof does more than simply promote businesses. Its community websites act as a hub for all that’s going on in an area: sharing news, events, offers and important community information with people in each region. Moreover, before being accepted as members, businesses must pass an assessment and continue to prove great customer service to ensure they meet thebestof’s standards, guaranteeing only high quality, reputable businesses are promoted.

So what does it take to become a franchise owner with thebestof and a champion of your local area? Paul concludes: “We’re looking to work with people who have a real passion for their local area and are keen to see it grow and prosper. Whilst we don’t have a set standard of qualification we generally find that franchise owners will be entreprenurial, ambitious and self motivated, having an abundance of energy and a strong ability to deal with business owners and decision makers.’
