Before joining Kendlebell in May 2007, Gobnait Collins worked as a Financial Manager for a gourmet catering company. Eager to take control of her career and become her own boss, Gobnait looked to the franchise industry to find her ideal business opportunity.
“My husband Gerry and I researched lots of different franchises, but Kendlebell appealed to us the most as we both come from office-based backgrounds,” she explains. “We met with the company founders, David Kelly and Tom Shanahan, to find out more about Kendlebell and the services it provided. We then went to the UK and spent some time with two franchise operations, one of which was run by a husband and wife team. Seeing how well they ran the business together confirmed that Kendlebell was the business for us.
“I really enjoy being my own boss,” continues Gobnait. “My days are never boring as there are so many aspects of the business I can get involved with, from marketing and networking to taking calls and speaking with my customers directly. The ongoing support I receive from Kendlebell and other franchise owners makes the whole experience so much easier – it’s reassuring to know I have that
network of support.
“As the Irish economy is going through a rough time, my main goal for the moment is to concentrate on providing my clients with the best service possible and, hopefully in the near future, increase the number of products and services available to my customers.”
