The franchise owners of the Esquires Coffee Houses Carrick on Shannon store have followed their award-winning success with the opening of two more outlets.

Fergal McGovern and Rhona O’Sullivan have recently opened stores in Longford and Airside Retail Park, Swords.

The Longford store created 10 new jobs, while the Swords outlet helped to create 15 new jobs. In commenting on the new openings, O’Sullivan said: “The new store in Swords boasts a meeting room for up to 20 people and we also have a KidsZone play area where parents can relax and enjoy a soothing cup of coffee while their little ones play to their hearts content.

“At Esquires, our main aim is serving that perfect cup of coffee combined with the freshest locally sourced produce. Relax with the daily papers and our professional service ‘baristas’ will take care of the rest.”

The couple’s Carrick on Shannon Esquires Coffee outlet was a runner-up in their category at Ireland’s largest retail sector awards, the FBD Retail Excellence Ireland Awards in 2009. In 2010, they finished 7th and were also awarded a place in Retail Excellence Ireland’s Top 50th stores in Ireland.

McGovern and O’Sullivan, who between them have 40 years of business experience, were delighted to have received such recognition from Retail Excellence in both their first two years of operation. O’Sullivan added: “At Esquires we always strive to provide our customers with excellent customer service, it is and will always be a hallmark of our business.”

The freedom of running their own business under such a renowned name is not the only benefit both McGovern and O’Sullivan have discovered since becoming Esquires franchise owners.

“The ongoing support we have received has been excellent,” O’Sullivan said. “The Esquires head office team is very experienced and hands on, they regularly visit us and we know they are always on the other end of a phone.

“We are very happy with the way things have gone for us in our first three years and we would be happy to recommend an Esquires Coffee franchise to anyone interested in getting in to the café business.”
