US restaurant chain seeks international franchise partners
USA-based Mexican-themed restaurant chain Baja Fresh is looking for Area Developer partners to aid their international expansion. The brand is well established in the USA and now seeks international franchisees that will open, own and operate restaurants themselves under a development agreement.
Baja Fresh was founded in 1990 as a high quality alternative to fast food and casual dining chains. Since it opened its first outlet Baja Fresh has focused on serving meals made from fresh high quality ingredients. As an extension of this the company has established a policy of using no microwaves, can openers, lard or M.S.G (Monosodium Glutamate Toxicity) in the preparation of its dishes.
The brand has some similarities in its style to the Subway concept: being a Californian health-focused fast food business with the accent on freshly made in store products. The operation can work in premises from 650 sq ft and targets a trade that is 70 per cent daytime/30 per cent early evening with a medium price point aimed at a wide age range and certainly encompassing the younger consumer.
The brand offers flexibility in its approach to target markets and has the ability to be replicated across all countries, creeds and tastes as it is able to meet Halal and Kosher requirements since all produce can be locally sourced.
Baja Fresh serves a range of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner in a bright, clean and upbeat environment. All of Baja Fresh's menu items are made to order and include a selection of burritos, tacos, fajitas, salads and soups, as well as an 'all-you-can-eat' salsa bar. Additionally Baja Fresh offers customers both dine-in, takeaway service, and Party Packs.
The licence agreement for Baja Fresh is for a 10 year term and available for Ireland. The minimum investment requirement is US$500,000.
The Baja Fresh franchise package includes marketing support, realestate and construction, management training, restaurant opening team support and ongoing operational support.
The ideal candidate for a Baja Fresh franchise is a hard working person with experience in operating a restaurant and who appreciates the brand's focus on serving meals made from good quality and fresh ingredients.
Sister company to Baja Fresh, the first La Salsa restaurant was opened in 1979 as a Mexican 'taquaris' and has established itself as a casual, quick-service Mexican restaurant chain.
La Salsa serves a variety of Mexican foods all made from fresh and healthy ingredients which include burritos, tacos, salads and quesadillas. La Salsa restaurants are designed to stimulate the senses and to create a contemporary festive atmosphere that celebrates the authentic heritage of Mexico and each restaurant features an exhibition style kitchen that enables diners to view their meals being prepared. The emphasis is on fresh food with flavours and offers a flexible and broad menu. The business lends itself to an older more mature clientele with the expectation of a mid-market price structure.
La Salsa franchisees can choose from four types of restaurant layouts that range in size and suitable venues. These are La Salsa Express, La Salsa Grill, La Salsa Cantina and La Salsa Restaurant. The restaurant design is flexible and can be customised to a wide variety of premises from 2,500 sq ft upward.
