Zumo franchise keen to enter US market
Irish smoothie bar franchise Zumo is keen to enter the US market and has already opened an office in the US and is in talks with potential franchisees. The move is estimated to be worth over 1.4 billion euros per year.
Zumo Chief Executive Cathal Power comments: 'To my knowledge, none of the established brands in the US are offering what we are offering. They use concentrated juice or something called sherbets, which are flavoured water with sugar. That presents to us an opportunity.
'We're [still] looking at units and our franchise manager will be over there later this month looking at more of them. We're going to be very careful about where we open. The initial store will be very important for us and we want to get that right,'
