The Proposition

TaxAssist Direct Ltd has created the largest network of accountants across the UK - currently over 160 - specialising in accounting and tax services for small business. The brand is becoming widely recognised and is visible across the UK through the shop fronts and the national marketing activities. TaxAssist Accountants will become the brand of choice for small businesses. The branded shop front concept 'retails' accountancy services and provides a relaxed and informal setting for the small business

The Master Franchise
A TaxAssist Accountants Master Franchise is now available in Ireland. This can generate significant revenue via the licence fees and Management Service Fees chargeable. The Master Franchise system is designed to help the Master Franchisee achieve success proportionate to the achievements of TaxAssist Direct Ltd in the UK
Following the launch of its 71st shop-front, UK-based accountancy and tax franchise TaxAssist Accountants is keen to replicate its successful business model for the Irish market through the development of its Irish Master Franchise opportunity. TaxAssist Accountants is looking for individuals with a proven track record in franchising or accountancy to take on the challenge and help it achieve its ambition of a nationwide network.

The Irish Master Franchisee's role will be to oversee the brand's expansion throughout Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland and will ideally open a head office in Dublin. Duties will include recruiting new franchisees, training them and offering support.

Established in 1995 by Chartered Accountant John Westgarth, TaxAssist Accountants was set up to provide tailored taxation, accountancy and business services to small business owners nationwide. John spotted this gap in the market, following the introduction of self-assessment tax, which revolutionised the way small business owners and the self-employed calculated their tax liability. Consequently this increased the demand for a local personal, professional tax and accountancy service.

In 2002 TaxAssist Accountants introduced the shop front premises to steer the franchise away from the conventional 'stuffy' image of accountancy firms. The idea was to create a more modern, open and welcoming venue and six years on, the new concept has paid off. Franchisees who have made the switch to the shop front have experienced phenomenal growth due to the increased visibility and professionalism the shop brings. With its network of branded partners offering loans, financial advice and insurance, TaxAssist Accountants is a 'one stop shop' catering for all small business' needs.

To date TaxAssist Accountants has over 160 franchisees operating in its UK network and continues to recruit successfully. Franchisee Jim Andrew, is the 71st shop front. He operates the Belfast-based franchise and is the first Irish franchisee. He explains how the credit crunch is affecting him. He says: 'As the credit crunch bites, self-employed people and small businesses turn to accountancy firms for business advice and for ways to save money on their taxes. In my opinion now is the ideal time to launch an accountancy franchise and capitalise on the situation.. Since the launch of my franchise in March I have had a continual steady stream of business, this increased when I moved to my shop-front premises in October.'

TaxAssist Accountants will be on hand every step of the way to ensure the Master Franchisee gets off to a flying start. As part of the Master Franchise package TaxAssist Accountants will assist the Master Franchisee with the launch and effective running of the network and help prepare a thorough financial model and business plan. As well as this the Master Franchisee will undergo comprehensive training, which will cover the recruitment and training of franchisees, through to marketing and management. Staff from the Norwich-based Support Centre in England will always be available to assist the Master Franchisee.
