Pizza Hut franchise acquires Godfather's Pizza network

Restaurant and takeaway franchise, Pizza Hut has purchased the Godfather's Pizza chain and is set to take the title as the largest pizza operator in Ireland. Re-branding of the existing 27 Godfather Pizza outlets is underway and a further 40 outlets are planned in the near future. Godfather's Pizza founders John and Patrick Cronin are now the Master Franchisees for the new Pizza Hut home delivery brand PHQ

Chief Executive of Pizza Hut (UK) Alasdair Murdoch says: 'We have more than 50 years of pizza making experience and are looking forward to growing our business within Ireland. The appointment of John and Patrick Cronin as our Master Franchisees is paramount, as their experience in the local market and understanding of the Irish customers' tastes will be invaluable.'

Established in 1996 Godfather's Pizza was one of Ireland's largest and most successful pizza franchises. John says: 'We're very proud of what Godfather's Pizza has achieved and are delighted to be working with the world's largest pizza brand to develop and expand the PHQ by Pizza Hut brand within our local market. It is a great opportunity for our current and new franchisees to be part of this global success story. We hope to learn a lot from our new colleagues and are confident our customers will love what the PHQ by Pizza Hut brand has to offer.'
